A mobile-optimized site is the perfect companion to your main website. It is specifically designed to be more usable for those browsing your site on a smaller-screen mobile device. When a mobile user comes to your site on a mobile device (iPhone, Android, Blackberry devices), the site will automatically detect his device and send him to mobile site (which includes the option to also view the full site).
The mobile site, also fully updatable with our Backstage CMS, shares the same content as the full site, but is a scaled down version of the site. See some examples of mobile sites we have designed. To view a live example, visit our website from your mobile device. This is the most cost-effective option for getting started in the mobile sphere.
2. A Dedicated Mobile App
Why a dedicated app? With your own dedicated app, users can purchase or download your app from popular app stores like iTunes and the Android Marketplace. A dedicated app is a great way to engage users long-term by creating further attachment to your company where you can both provide additional services and further market.
Similar or different? Although dedicated apps and mobile optimized sites seem similar, apps can go several steps further and enable you to utilize phone features like the camera, GPS, and push notifications. Beyond that, apps are downloadable and easily updatable as you think up new ideas for how to use your apps. While apps are a larger investment than a mobile-optimized site, they give customers the advantage of the simplified touch screen functionality and can be accessed whether online or offline.
