Capital Animal Hospital is a third-generation veterinary practice located in the heart of Columbia, SC. Dr. Jonathan Suber, the founder's grandson, turned to YCP to give Capital a fresh look and feel for a new brand that felt modern but also hearkened back to their heritage as a local vet practice serving its community.

It Began With a Roadmap

When they had reopened the practice, their logo and website was through together to "get something up" but they had never spent the time working through their messaging: mission, vision, values, or articulating what really makes Capital unique. They decided to do it right this time and engaged YCP to develop a roadmap that would help them create a fresh mark that was founded in their mission and to better articulate that mission through their messaging.

Launching a New Website

Since the website was the first place that customers come to find out about Capital, it was important that it told their story effectively, communicated a friendly tone, and enabled customers to "self-educate" on whether their pet needed a consultation. Through the use of warm photography centered around people, fun illustrations, and clear messaging, we brought Capital to life online giving visitors a sense for what they would experience. Videos were added to explain complex procedures and answer frequently asked questions.

Hearing Jonathan share stories about how his family’s had cared for its community was very moving. We knew this was important to them and captured these moments in a video that shared the heart behind what makes Capital Animal Hospital unique.

Creating Videos That Self Educate

The new website is a great platform for sharing information and educating customers in advance of a consultation. We took most common questions and conditions and put them into a series of videos that would live on the website.

Videos to Self-Diagnose Common Conditions

Because diagnosing whether your pet needs surgery can be complicated or confusing, we created a series of videos to help pet owners understand the common conditions that might mean their animal would need surgery. This provided a valuable resource.

Frequently Asked Questions

Since they have a small staff, we wanted to reduce the number of call-ins by putting more information online around the common questions they receive. From billing and insurance to how long their pet might stay after surgery, a new FAQs video helps customers get their questions answered in advance.

Photos to capture human and non-human emotion

It wasn't enough to say Capital cared, we wanted to show it in action through the ways they interacted with pets and their owners. Using photography and video we captured a "day in the life" of Capital Animal Hospital and the many ways they serve customers every day.
